We wanted things

Things wrapped in plastic
Others in paper and some just loosely packaged and virtually raw

There is a necessity that one look dumbfounded
Materials come into existence like mice
The components are already obsolete but the craving is still good to nurture

We wanted fruits and vegetables
Meats and cheeses
We wanted bacon and good health
Low premiums and benchmark products
We wanted beautiful children and soft sheets
We wanted organ music and oil paintings
Protection from viruses and free transportation
We wanted things

Down the line you hear of not wanting things
Of letting go and tidying up affairs
You hear of getting the most out of spaces
And not needing much
Fresh air
Sun on the face, then perhaps shade from the sun
A glass of lemonade
A well made chair
A found rock
Salvaged wood
A tendril of hair with a ribbon
